Frequently Asked Questions

Why do you need to know my budget?

We will always ask you what amount of money you are prepared to spend on the project, as this will then provide us with a better idea of what we can - and what we can't achieve - for that amount of money. Materials vary in quality and price. Larger projects take more time and consequentially, cost more to build than smaller projects. We always charge the same, fixed daily rates for our services, regardless of your financial status.

Would you mind if I get some other quotes, from other companies?

Absolutely not! Always aim to get three quotes in total for any major project you are contemplating. If you find a better quotation, please let us know and we will do our best to match or beat that quote. (Proof of quotation will be required).

I'm happy to go ahead with the quote. What is the next step?

Once you are happy with the design and details of the project, we will ask you for a deposit. This deposit is used to purchase the materials to start your project. This can be up to 50% of the cost of the project, depending on the project requirements. We accept payments by card, credit card, bank transfer or cash. We then schedule you with a mutually acceptable start date for the project and take it from there.

What are your working days/times? Do I need to be at home during this time?

We always aim to complete a project as quick as possible for our clients. Our usual working hours are 8-5 Mon-Sat, however weather depending and subject to deadlines, we will work into the evenings and on Sundays if required to stay on schedule. You do not need to be on site during these days, all we require is access to the building during our working hours.

What areas do you work in? Where are you prepared to travel to?

With our workshop located in Todmorden our main working areas are around West Yorkshire/Lancashire usually within a 25 mile radius including areas around, Halifax, Rochdale, Burnley, Greater Manchester, Huddersfield, Bradford, and Blackburn. Please contact us however if you are outside this area as we may still be able to help.

What range of materials can you provide with your steelwork and welding services?

We work with a wide range of materials such as Mild & Stainless Steel, Aluminium, Wrought Iron to name a few. Unless the customer requests specifically for a material, we like to access the project requirement first and then put forward a material we feel will be most suitable.

Can you make unique steelwork structures/objects designed by a client?

Yes! We pride ourselves on our quality of workmanship and love to test ourselves on new projects, new materials and custom builds. If you have an idea on a new unique structure, from a garden sculpture to a customised staircase or guard rail, please contact us.
